2nd Annual Lemonade Legends Wiffle Ball Tournament
What started as a simple summer lemonade stand quickly turned into something much more meaningful.
Chase DeFeo, the 9-year-old behind Lemonade Legends, was selling ice-cold lemonade and making an impressive profit. After learning about the importance of giving back, Chase and his family began talking about ways he could use his success to support others in the community. They explored several local nonprofits, but one strongly stood out: RWJ Field of Dreams in Toms River – a park designed specifically for individuals with disabilities and their families.
It was a perfect fit. Chase has a deep love for baseball, and the very name Lemonade Legends was inspired by his passion for the game. As they started brainstorming ways to support the park, there were so many connections that made the whole experience even more special.
Throughout the summer, Chase and his friends had been tossing around the idea of organizing a wiffle ball tournament, so turning it into a fundraiser made perfect sense. That’s how the Lemonade Legends Charity Wiffle Ball Tournament came to be.
Now entering its 2nd year, Lemonade Legends has already made a meaningful impact. Thanks to the incredible support of local businesses, players, families, and community members, last year’s tournament raised more than $5,000 for the RWJBH Field of Dreams. The response has been overwhelming, and it’s been amazing to see what can happen when kids lead the way with a good idea, a little heart, and a desire to make a difference.
